The Andro-Media Series 1980-1986

Andro-media

A series of Installation works employing computer generated video images, He-Ne lasers, audio electronics, atmospheric media and a vinyl plastic chamber. Andro-Media was first installed in 1980 at the Ithaca Arts Cooperative in Ithaca, New York as part of a collaborative installation.  

Technology for Andro-Media was later refined at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Center for Advanced Visual Study and the Experimental Television Center over repeated residencies from 1983-1986. Andro-Media I, documents the installation as it was presented in Brooklyn, New York in 1984. (Image at extreme right is a video detail.)
Andro-Media II, was presented at an exhibition organized by the Urban Light group in 1985, at Limelight in New York City, and in 1987 at the Morris Museum in Morristown, New Jersey. Most recently a manifestation of Andro-Media was presented at the 1995 International Symposium on Electronic Art in Montreal, Canada. 10'x10'x10'
