 Light Works

My first experiments with light were in the 1970's with the creation of the performance work, Laser Sculpture Dance. This project explored the bounds of the physical object entering into semi-materiality. It is this quality of light that allowed the sculpture to be transformed and manipulated in the dance.

In the later sculptures and installations like Fish Magic and the Andro-media Series the light emitting elements take on a more narrative quality, either in providing symbolic references or in articulating sound.

Light has always been an important tool for me and remains so. The Waterline Project and later sculptures like, Progression document this continued interest.
