MTA Rail Station, LONG BEACH

A SHELL FOR LONG BEACH

This work has been selected by New York's Metropolitan Transit
Authority for the city of Long Beach's LIRR rail station.
The work is a cast bronze sea shell, approximately 3' diameter x 10'
length which will function as a bicycle rack. In this art work the
natural spiral of the shell will be elongated and pulled from its main
body to form a spring-like set of rings accommodating 10-12 bicycles.
